FAQs

Do you take insurance?

I am not in-network with any insurance panels and do not accept insurance. I recommend checking with your insurance company to determine if you have out-of-network benefits. If so, I can provide you with a superbill which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

What kinds of payment do you accept?

I accept payment through credit card or HSA card on my secure online billing platform.

How frequently will we meet?

I highly recommend that clients start by meeting weekly for the first 4-6 months of treatment in order to build our relationship and build momentum toward your goals. Based on your progress, you may choose to decrease frequency to bi-weekly after that time. We will touch base from time to time over the course of treatment to determine what frequency works best for you.

What is the difference between therapy and coaching?

Therapy and coaching are two separate fields that have some overlap. Both involve building a supportive, professional relationship to give you support and help you reach your goals. However, there are important differences.

Therapy is a clinical treatment of mental health diagnoses. It is an incredibly supportive and transformative process focused on building a therapeutic relationship in order to meeting your clinical mental health goals. The professional field is overseen by regulatory agencies. As a licensed therapist, I am held to the legal and ethical requirements of the social work professional. The therapist-client relationship is a protected relationship, meaning that it is legally held to privacy and confidentiality requirements. As a licensed therapist in the states of Ohio and Colorado, I can work with therapy clients in either of those states.

Coaching is a process to support you in meeting your goals, addressing mindset, emotional blocks, and limiting beliefs along the way. The relationship with your coach can feel incredibly supportive and effective in facilitating the transformation you’re looking for. However, coaching is not clinical treatment of any mental health disorder. The relationship between coach and client is confidential, but it is not legally protected like a relationship with a therapist. Because coaching is not under the same regulations and licensing as therapy, there is flexibility and freedom for me a as coach to work with clients living anywhere in the world.

To determine whether therapy or coaching is a good fit for you, we can discuss whether your presenting problems indicate a clinical diagnosis that requires clinical treatment by a therapist. If you live out of state and want to work with me as a coach but have some clinical diagnoses like PTSD, OCD, anxiety, depression, etc. that require a therapist, you can work with a local therapist to treat those diagnoses while working with me as a coach for specific support on your future-oriented goals.
